a. prior learning assessment (earn credit for your life experience.)

- documentation of training/employment
b. field training (you have already completed this 16-week training with your department.)

- step v evaluation
c. police academy (credit will be awarded for police academy completion if credits are not included within the associate’s degree.)
how credit is awarded
transfer up to 62 credits from a two-year college and up to 90 from a four-year college
other sources of academic credit — up to 30 credits awarded
- police academy (if not included in associate’s degree)
- prior learning assessment
- field training
courses to be completed at olivet college — 31 credits*
total credits required for graduation from olivet college — 120 credits
*additional coursework may be required to reach the required 120 credits for graduation from olivet college depending upon the number of transferable credits completed and other sources of academic credit available to each student. this will vary by student.
